Flooding has affected 500 homes in Serang Regency since Tuesday, December 3, 2024. This disaster has been caused by high-intensity rainfall, leading to river overflows across three districts: Padarincang, Cinangka, and Tirtayasa.
1. Extent of the Flood Damage
Flooding has submerged hundreds of homes across several villages. According to Haryadi, the Acting Head of the Serang Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD):
- Padarincang District:
- Citasuk Village: 300 homes
- Barugbug Village: 35 homes
- Bugel Village: 47 homes
- Tirtayasa District:
- Tengkurak Village: 117 homes
In Padarincang, water levels have receded in Barugbug and Bugel villages, but flooding persists in Citarik Village.
2. Ongoing Monitoring and Affected Areas
- BPBD is actively monitoring areas where floodwaters remain stagnant, particularly in Cinangka and Tirtayasa districts.
- Persistent flooding continues in Rancasanggal, Cinangka.
3. Extreme Weather Challenges
In addition to flooding, extreme weather has caused widespread tree falls across five districts, disrupting daily life:
- Bojonegara: Fallen trees blocked roads and damaged two vehicles.
- Puloampel and Cinangka: Roads were obstructed by fallen trees.
- Kopo District: In Nanggung Village, a tree damaged a house and a warung (small shop).
- Gunungsari: A fallen tree struck a house.
