Mayor of Serang Ensures Transparent Distribution of Social Aid
SERANG | FOKUS NEWS – Mayor of Serang, Budi Rustandi, directly supervised the distribution of the Family Welfare Card (KKS) under the Family Hope Program (PKH) and basic food packages in Drangong, Taktakan District, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Budi emphasized that social aid distribution must not become a ceremonial act but a concrete effort to support citizens in need. He ensured the assistance reached the right recipients without interference.
“Every time PKH funds are disbursed, we often hear of irresponsible individuals cutting beneficiaries’ balances. I guarantee this must not happen again. If anyone dares to continue such practices, I will take legal action,” Budi stated firmly.
The mayor’s direct engagement was seen as part of his commitment to transparency and integrity in managing social aid programs. He highlighted the importance of social assistance in reducing poverty, particularly for children from low-income families.
“The distribution of social aid has a major impact on reducing poverty, especially among poor children in Serang City,” he said.
Beyond direct assistance, Budi also stressed that poverty alleviation efforts in Serang will be supported by the creation of new jobs. This initiative is expected to foster economic independence among residents and reduce reliance on government aid.
