Banten Urges Travelers to Be Cautious of Weather Changes

BANTEN NEWS
- The government of Banten province has urged travelers who will visit or travel for the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the province to be cautious of the weather conditions. The governor of Banten, Muktabar Al, said this is related to the awareness of weather changes that have been discussed with Forkopimda Banten and other stakeholders and held an emergency preparedness meeting.

“For our awareness, we have done preparation with emergency preparedness meeting and have discussed in the meeting yesterday among others some standard operating procedures (SOP) that have been prepared,” he said, Ahad (24/12/2023).

At that opportunity, Al also urged travelers who will cross from Merak Port to Bakauheni and who will travel to be able to get information about the weather forecast that has been released by BMKG. “BMKG has provided information openly so that people can access information about the weather forecast that will happen. I hope it can help people who will do activities during Christmas and New Year holidays,” he said.

Al said a few days ago his team had visited Merak Port and for cross Merak-Bakauheni crossing still runs quite well, but there are some things that need to be watched out for, among them weather changes. However, based on the analysis of Badan Meteologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) weather until early 2024 is still conducive. I hope there is no weather that can disrupt the operation of ship crossing.

“For crossing area Merak-Bakauheni there is something that needs to be watched out for is weather changes. I hope there is no weather that can disrupt the operation of ship crossing,” he said.

He said weather changes should be a concern in cross Merak-Bakauheni crossing during Christmas and New Year holidays. “For travel at this time in Banten V/C Ratio still quite safe. But anomalous weather should be a concern,” he said.
