Kapolres Lebak Sterilizes Six Churches for Natal

FOKUS LEBAK - Six churches in Lebak Regency, West Java, were sterilized by the personnel of the Brimob (Special Forces) of the Banten Provincial Police (Polda Banten) on Sunday, December 24, 2023. The operation was part of the security and sanitation measures taken by the police to prevent any potential threats or incidents during the Christmas celebration.

The sterilization process involved checking every corner of each church, as well as spraying disinfectant and cleaning all surfaces. The police also distributed masks and hand sanitizers to the worshippers who attended the mass.

“Today we carried out sterilization of six churches in Rangkasbitung and Maja districts. We hope that all churches are clean,” said Eddy Prasetyo Hermawan, Operations Chief of Polres Lebak, to reporters at Santa Maria Tak Bernoda Church, Jalan Multatuli, Rangkasbitung District, on Sunday (24/12/2024).

According to Eddy, there are six churches in Lebak Regency that are located in two districts: Lima in Rangkasbitung District and Satu in Maja District. He also said that for this year’s Christmas celebration, he deployed 168 personnel from Brimob to ensure maximum security.

“We deployed 168 personnel as ordered by Kapolres Lebak so that they can be protected as much as possible,” he added.
