BMKG predicts light to moderate rainfall for coastal tourist spots
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Class I Serang predicts that all beach tourist destinations in Banten Province will be showered with rain on New Year’s Eve 2024.
Tatang Rusmana, the Coordinator of Data and Information at BMKG Class I Serang, said that rain is also predicted to hit Anyer, Serang to Sawarna, Lebak Regency.
“Expect light to moderate rain. The rain is predicted to be below normal from the normal average on New Year’s Eve,” Tatang Rusmana told reporters.

Tatang explained that in December 2023, Banten Province had entered the rainy season due to the presence of the west monsoon or wind blowing from Asia.
“As the rainy season progresses, the westerly or Asian monsoon winds bring moist air masses into the Banten region,” he said.
Therefore, the public is asked to be alert to body conditions and maintain health.
The peak of the rainy season in North Banten, which includes Serang, Cilegon, Tangerang, will occur in February 2024. Meanwhile, for South Banten such as Lebak and Pandeglang, the peak is predicted in January 2024.
“For the potential of hydrometeorological disasters, be alert at the peak of the rainy season, where each seasonal zone has a slight difference,” said Tatang.
Meanwhile, the sea wave height is still relatively low around 0.5 to 1.25 meters on the coast of Anyer to Tanjung Lesung. For Bagedur to Sawarna, Labak, the sea wave height is 1.25 to 2.5 meters.
